Okay, lets attempt this again. I tried to make a blog post about my classes that took me about an hour to type up but I guess this blog couldn't handle the massive size or something? Idk. But here I am, attempting to try again. I will make it shorter this time by just focusing on my classes that occur M, W, and F. Here we go.
Monday classes begin promptly at 8 a.m. Yowzer. That is early for an college student, but there you go. Anyway, the class is run by "Professor Rob Dermant" (names have been changed just in case some creep wants to stalk me or something. Hey, it could happen!). He is a Woody Allen type character. Short, Jewish, gray wispy hair, very smiley, always in a good mood, and very enthusiastic about his subject material. Unlike Woody Allen, he wasn't tied to Diane Keaton for an x number of years and he didn't sleep with one of his adopted children. (Look that up if you don't believe me. Be warned, it is very creepy.)
The classes run from 8 to 8:50 a.m. with a Discussion class every Monday from 11 to 11:50 a.m. Discussion classes are especially important. It is a smaller class plus attendance counts as a grade. So be sure to show up! Haha.
Following Psychology is Anthropology 105 - a lab course. (I need at least one lab class to get my Associates Degree, so here I am.) Taught by a portly but charming "Professor Smithson," he exudes the same passion for his subject like Professor Dermant. Unlike Dermant, Smithson doesn't have the same power to rope in his students to get excited about the subject. I mean the material is interesting enough, but I really can't get passionate about it like I did for Psychology. Shame...
This class is twice a week, thus a longer time stuck inside the lab room. Monday it runs from 9 to 10:50 a.m. LONG TIME! Thankfully Smithson is kind enough to let us out for a break for ten minutes at 10 o'clock. A good breather in between such a long class. Monday is one long block, but the last half of Wednesday's class is devoted to Lab. This week we examined skulls, actual human skulls, to learn the various bits and pieces that make up our heads. My group had the school of a 45 year old woman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the group behind me had the skull of a seven year old boy. Cool, eh?
What is interesting to note is that three of my friends are in that class. Which makes for a fun time, for sure. :)
Finally there is Business 210. A class within a cool (if not downright cold) computer lab, it is a class devoted to writing in a business like setting. So instead of making long, flowy sentences analyzing a poem or story with words high on the grade level to convey our intense and vast knowledge of the written English language we write sentences that are short and to the point. No one has time to read a three page memo. It is all about being concise and clear. Our written language must be dropped down to the eighth and ninth grade level for clear understanding of what we are saying. We are not dumbing ourselves down in the least bit. Instead, we are learning when and how to write for business. It is a lot of fun for me. I like to write, I like to type, and the class is fun enough. Our textbook is very nice in that it is colorful, has a lot of useful information, and gives us clear cut examples of what and how we are supposed to write. Which helps a lot, believe me.
Because Anthro 105 ends at 11:50 a.m. and Bus 210 does not start until 2:25 p.m. I go to my mom's house, which is abut ten minutes away from school. I crash on her couch, eat her food, drink her juice, crank up the heat, and watch her movies. Just like a parasite! LOL.
Tomorrow is Friday and I only have one class. Isn't that just delightful? It is Psychology with Professor Dermant, and after that I have a nice long weekend ahead of me. Stupendous, yes?
Let's see if this will post.
i enjoyed reading this!!! glad you took another crack at the ole bloggeroo =]
